We need to be able to easily group and segment records, like Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Leads or other business data.
Dynamics 365 provides several different mechanisms that all have their usage areas. However, there is a need to be able to quickly group records, in a way that is suitable for both individual and organizational usage.
Skyvekraft Thrusted Tags leverages the built-in Connections technology in Dynamics 365, adding a powerful and user-friendly user interface.
Thrusted Tags has built-in life-cycle management capabilities such as Tag Ownership, Scope, Tag Groups, and Duplication Handling. Icons and pictures can be used for easy visual identification, and it supports bulk tagging.
Easier segmentation capabilities provides not only benefits for individual users, it also increases the value of the data in the organizations Dynamics 365 solution.
The source code, as well as managed and unmanaged solutions that are ready for installation are freely available on GitHub.
On this page you will find a link to the Github repo. In addition, you will find a link to an installation guide for system administrators, a manual for end users and a blog article about solutions for marking / tagging data in Dynamics 365 / Dataverse.
If you use Thrusted Tags and like what we have done, we do not expect anything in return, but positive feedback is always appreciated!
If you need assistance related to Thrusted Tags, we can provide this as paid consulting services.
Thrusted Tags comes with two different controls for displaying tags and tagging records directly in the forms. Tags can be shown as cards or in a more traditional list form. The controls make it easy to connect to a Tag (segment) or remove a tag connection.
Tags are organized with Personal, Organization specific or Global scopes. Tags can also be organized into Tag Groups. These and other mechanisms ensure oversight, control and correct usage of Tags and segmentation information.
When there is no relevant existing Tag, a new Personal Tag can be created directly in the record being tagged.
Skyvekraft Thrusted Tags are leveraging the Connections technology built-in the platform. This means that all data is stored using standard mechanisms and system customizers can use their regular tools to show the tagging information in own custom views, reports etc.
Tag owners decide how duplicate tagging attempts are handled. This happens when another user attempts to Tag a record that has already been tagged with that specific Tag. In some circumstances, one wants to allow this scenario, since seeing that a number of users has tagged this record with the same tag is relevant information. In other scenarios, when the record has already been tagged, it should ignore further tagging attempts.
From List views, it is possible to tag multiple records at once.
It is quick and easy for system customizers to add Tagging Controls to relevant forms. In addition to the default views in the solution, other views can be added as needed by administrators and users.
